After graduation from Parsons School of Design, Guy cut his teeth in the film industry, creating props and special effects working on several Hollywood films. This led to him working as an art director for industrial films and commercial work. Eventually he found his way into advertising as an art director, designer and occasionally also working behind the camera, directing, shooting, and producing.
He has worked as an art director and creative director, writer for dozens of major brands and has produced work for every platform. From his early years at McCann, Dancer Fitzgerald and Sample to Saatchi and Saatchi, Lowe and eventually as founder and Chief Global Creative officer of Palio Communications. In 2014 he founded Brandforming and its production capability, Vocal Pictures. From 2017-2023 Guy served as the F. William Harder Chair Professor of Management & Business at Skidmore College where he taught courses on Branding and Marketing and Commercial Production. Guy has served on the executive jury of the Clio and Global awards. During his years at Palio the agency racked up over 800 awards for creativity.
